Service Area

TCWA services the Turtle Creek watershed - including 147 square miles and 33 communities - located from just east of Pittsburgh to the western edge of Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Sub-watershed Units

For the purposes of study and planning, watersheds are divided into sub-units based upon drainage areas. In our case, we have a total of fourteen such units. As shown in the following chart, Turtle Creek itself is divided into three units - Upper, Middle, and Lower. Brush Creek is divided into two units - Upper and Lower. The other nine tributaries cover small enough areas to stand alone.
