Mission Statement

To promote the conservation of the natural resources of the Turtle Creek watershed by:

Conducting watershed-related educational and scientific investigations &/or research, and implementing natural design-based water quality protection and quantity management projects;

Educating individuals, schools, organizations, and communities to the value of sound conservation techniques to protect natural resources - the basis for safe drinking water, improved flood control, invigorated quality of life, and stable property values;

Participating in existing beneficial government or academic programs that enhance watershed protection while advancing multi-municipal cooperation; and

Promoting local interest in the conservation of natural resources in the watershed, and encouraging local support for programs that correct or improve water quality and quantity problems.

Our Vision

Our mission will be accomplished when all of our 315 major miles of streams and their tributaries have clean water flowing through them, and they support healthy ecosystems - including one for humans. By our work, we, the members, board, and staff of TCWA, wish to safeguard drinking water sources, manage stormwater effectively, eliminate combined or sanitary sewer overflows, end needless land erosion and sedimentation, prevent flooding and flood damage, protect property values, enhance local recreational opportunites, and make our watershed a more appealing place to live and work.
